These savoury almonds are perfectly spiced with cumin, chilli, and a hint of sweetness, making them an irresistible snack on their own and a crunchy, flavourful topping for salads.

Ingredients
2 cups blanched almonds (dry with no moisture in them)
6 tablespoons sugar
1.5 teaspoons salt
1.5 teaspoons pepper
1.5 teaspoons cumin powder
1.5 teaspoons chilli powder
2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions
- Create the spice mix by placing the salt, pepper, cumin powder, and chilli powder in a bowl.
 - Heat oil on medium heat.
 - Add almonds and coat the almonds with oil by stirring them around.
 - Add the sugar and stir till the almonds turn a caramel colour.
 - Remove the pan from the stove. Line a baking sheet with parchment and spread out the nuts (no overlapping). Now sprinkle the spice mix making sure that all the nuts are coated well.
 - Cool completely and store in an air-tight container.
